Weekly events

Postby Abishai » Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:10 pm

I'm currently toying with the idea of creating 1 hour a week which we dedicate to helping lower level characters in getting geared/quests done in instances or other heavy group based stuff.

If we rotate a bit who does this on a week to week basis, then we only actually have to run a group through something once every 3-4 weeks each. If we make sure we do 3-4 people at the same time, we can really help people in making progress.

Let me know what you guys think.

Of course we wouldn't be limited to just that weekly moment, but it would imo strongly encourage this kind of activity, be good for morale and show people we are actually doing something as a guild.

Kit is not the biggest problem really - one evening and outlands and that is sorted. But XP wise and for some temporary gear upgrades - yeah some people could really do with some help.

Besides, it can be fun going as a group.

Definitely.
Many quests are a pain in the arse to solo (if not impossible) and it's much more fun in a group.
Also as people have different characters it keeps the game interesting, as you get higher, the grind tends to get worse and it's nice to use a younger character.
We did this last night at Tarren Mill had some fun and cleared a few quests.
Fair bit of ganking by some lvl 70 allies, but I managed to kill a lvl 60 hunter (I'm 54 atm) who was very good at killing lvl 20/30's, not so good at the higher levels though

My lock is 70 now and 1 vs 1 I stand my own, except perhaps vs Rogues [b:fb8f91bdd6]if[/b:fb8f91bdd6] they get me stun locked.
Against level 60s I can prolly take 2-3 at the same time, dependent on their classes so it should be ok to go Tarren Mills.

I was thinking of grabbing a few people of similair level at the same time and clear an instance for quests, xp and gear but I am also up for taking 1 or 2 people somewhere if that helps.

I'm still a bit busy grinding reputation and keys on the Warlock but in weekends there will be some availability for these things, all in moderation of course :P

a TM evening where we all took turns in having our high/low levels their would rock.

i could do my warriors stuff, switch to mage for someone else to get their stuff sorted etc. No ganking going on then :D

It's not a too bad idea. Don't think I need TM but I don't really care, happy to play sentry.
