Requirements for Locks - READ UP!!!!!!

There are a number of things that we need to have to make sure we are being the best lock we can for raids. Supplies, gems, enchants and gear (inc rep items)

First off, unless you have some crazy reason to go aldor (which you won't) the items from scyer offer significant spell hit [item]Scryer's Bloodgem[/item]

So items that we, as locks can get without too much work and luck from bosses.

The order to consider your priorities:

Spell Hit (202 is the cap, break it) > Spell Dmg (1000 unbuffed shadow dmg - not even with fel armor!) > Spell Crit/Haste (12%)

[u:446954eeb1]Suppression[/u:446954eeb1] - with 5 points in this affliction talent you add 120 spell hit to whatever you see on your character screen, this needs to be adjusted down as your hit increases, allowing for you to use more points elsewhere (e.g malediction, shadow embrace, cataclysm or Improved HS etc)

[item]29132[/item] - Scyers Revered

[item]Inscription of the Orb[/item] - Scyers Honored

[item]Greater Inscription of the Orb[/item] - Scyers Exalted

[item]Glyph of power[/item] - Sha'tar Revered (Head Enchant)

[item]Orb of the Soul-Eater[/item] - Badges (25) I prefer this over others, dmg :)

[item]Voodoo-Woven Belt[/item] - Badges (60) Expensive badges but well worth it.

[b:446954eeb1]Enchants[/b:446954eeb1]

Right, once you've sorted those out, we can move onto the enchants that are available for the gear that you are using

Gloves - Spell Hit (unless you are way over cap - which you are not so stam enchants here are not acceptable)
Bracers - Spell Dmg
Chest - +6 All Stats
Cloak - Subtlety
Shoulders - Scyer Inscription of the Orb (see above)
Legs - Runic Spellthread - 35 Dmg
Feet - Boars Speed or 12 Stamina

The following two gems should be your standard gems in gear until you start to Spell Hit cap limit

[item]Veiled Noble Topaz[/item]
[item]24056[/item]

For Head items

[item]Swift Starfire Diamond[/item] - 8 Spirit Shards (Terrokar Instances when we have the towers)

or

[item]25896[/item] - AH (more a pvp gem but still nice)

and

[item]28118[/item] - Honor Vendor (+12 Spell Dmg)

[b:446954eeb1]Raid Consumables[/b:446954eeb1]

These are items you [b:446954eeb1]MUST[/b:446954eeb1] bring to every TK/SSC and Mag Raid, without question!

[u:446954eeb1][i:446954eeb1]40 Soul Shards![/i:446954eeb1][/u:446954eeb1]

[item]Flask of Pure Death[/item] (2 per TK/SSC raid and 1 per Mag)
[item]Superior Wizard Oil[/item] (3 charges worth)
[item]Blackened Basilisk[/item] (20+)

For Gruul, you will need to swap the [item]Flask of Pure Death[/item] for:

[item]Unstable Flask of the Sorcerer[/item] (At least 2, just in case)

LAST THING:

Bring some common sense and awareness of your surroundings, be aware of the tactics required and make sure you're in the top dps! ;)

RIght..... I think the time has come to start ensuring people have some of these items .....!

By the end of Feb, I expect all locks to have the correct gemming/enchant combinations as described above. If you have specific reasons to deviate from this then you need to come to me and justify it.

Hiya Guys and Girl,

Just wanted to make sure you're all aware of the above post and its deadline. I've been checking a few things and found the following to be outside of the above requirements..

Carina - Missing the following enchants

Cloak,
Boots,
Gloves(as you already have 198 spell hit this is acceptable for now, but should it drop then it will be required)

Gary - Missing an enchant

Gloves

Also, how come your spell hit is only 97? (scyer gem adds 32)

Phil - Missing enchants and 1 gem on your boots would give another 3 spell hit

Shoulers
Cloak
Chest
Bracers ( I also have the pvp ones so no excuse :) )
Boots - (change runed living ruby to glowing nightseye)

Charles - I can't check armory as you're in PVP gear, but I know you are pretty much on track.

I can do all but the bracer enchant, for which you'll need to speak to neill.

Can put spell damage on gloves instead if hit isn't needed :)

If you were getting those figures from armoury Gregg, it will be because when I'm farming food, or daily questing I'm wearing max stamina/max spell damage gear as I don't need the hit.
I'm wearing the voidheart gloves for raiding and I've got the spell hit enchant on those.

Aye I just meant if tthey're already on hit cap, there's no excuse for no enchant at all ;)

gregg is my gear alright so i dont get kicked out of raids ?

uhm i only need 380 points for cenarion rep so i can take up new quests = more rep = exalted \o/

mainly the only thing i still need i guess
since its enchanted properly just need a few gems i think i hav +6 spell hit might be able to update those.
